This week we brainstormed what we knew about Cyber Safety using an app called "Idea Sketch".
"Aden - Grade 4"
We then watched some animations that focussed on two areas of Cyber Safety.
1. Emailing (Do not open emails from people who you don't know as they might be a virus or a scam.)
2. Searching on the Net (If you come across inappropriate content online close the window you are working in. If this does not work close the browser or the computer. Be sure to tell a trusted adult also.)
We discussed each area and added any new learning to our original "Idea Sketch" brainstorm. We used this program so we could visualise our learning.

Great post =)
ReplyDeleteCyber safety, also known as internet safety or online safety, is the knowledge and practice of maximising an internet user’s personal safety and minimising his or her security risks. It is also widely accepted as the self-protection from computer crime. Cyber safety is something that parents and teachers need to focus on because there are a lot of bad things that can happen online, especially to students and minors who are vulnerable to attacks.
A lot of people can benefit from this – students, teachers and parents who would like to enhance cyber safety in their homes or schools. You can subscribe to the channel to ensure that you are always updated when it comes cyber safety. It is also possible to follow their updates from social media by liking their page on Facebook or following them on Twitter.
Whether you are an educator or a parent, you must accept the fact that technology and the internet are now imperative in students’ lives. It is your duty to ensure that these students are able to benefit from these, but it is also your responsibility to protect their safety.
Hi Kriselle, appreciate your comments. Cyber Safety is a very important part of the curriculum and the kids have enjoyed learning all about it!
